ADULT BASIC EDUCATION LEVEL I

Mission of the Adult Basic Education (ABE) Level I Program

The mission of the Adult Basic Education Level I Program is to provide instruction in the basic skills of reading, writing, and mathematics to adult learners in order to prepare them for transitioning into the labour market or higher education.

Hours of Operation

The ABE Level I Program runs Sept. to June, Monday through Friday, 8:30AM - 2:30PM

Financial Support

Financial support may be available to students in the ABE program through Newfoundland and Labrador Housing (NLHC), and Advanced Education & Skills (AES).

AE&S - $200.00 start up fee

- Monthly stipend

NLHC – Monthly stipend ($50.00 per month)

Admission Requirements

In order to enroll in the ABE program, a student must be at least 18 years of age, out of the K-12 school system for at least one year, and meet assessment requirements
